The STEPS TO MUSIC LITERACY materials and process evolved after many years of studying elementary student’s ability to master music reading and musicianship skills. The curriculum empowers children to understand the language of music through a sequential, developmentally appropriate approach.
The Steps to Music Literacy curriculum sequentially guides the teaching of rhythmic and melodic elements. Each music element is nurtured with thirteen activities so a child is able to retain and gain a more complete understanding and appreciation for music in a fun, exploratory way.
