iCivics develops new and innovative approaches to civic education. iCivics’ game-centered curriculum provides middle and high school students with the tools they need for active participation and democratic action. The games place students in different civic roles and give them agency to address real-world problems and issues. They are rooted in clear learning objectives and integrated with lesson plans and other curricular materials. The iCivics curriculum is grouped by units that align to state and Common Core standards. Teachers in a wide variety of classrooms have successfully implemented iCivics, and students using the program are more knowledgeable, engaged, and eager to participate in civic action and discussion than their counterparts. The games have been played more than 20 million times, and a growing base of educators relies on iCivics to provide a high quality civics curriculum.
