Social Studies Shorts: How an Idea Becomes a Law

When a member of Congress, the president, or even an ordinary citizen like you has an idea for a new law in the United States, that idea needs to first become a bill. This episode of Social Studies Shorts follows the path that an idea potentially takes – in this case, to the House of Representatives, through committee, to the Senate and to the president’s desk – to become a law.
