Be MediaWise is a series of media literacy lessons that teach specific fact-checking skills to help students sort fact from fiction online. These lessons were developed by PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Labs in partnership with MediaWise and the Teen Fact-Checking Network, which are part of the Poynter Institute. This partnership has been made possible with support from Google. The MediaWise Teen Fact-Checking Network (TFCN) is a virtual newsroom made up of middle and high schoolers from across the United States who use social media to debunk viral misinformation and share media literacy tips.
